Azure Server Farm Sensor

Azure Server Farm Sensor monitors Azure Server Farm resources, using Azure Monitor metrics. The Microsoft Server Farm simplifies the provisioning, scaling, and management of multiple servers for administrators and hosting providers.

The resource is automatically created for multiple services that require cloud computing. Azure Server Farm Sensor monitors CPU and Memory usage along with HTTP and Disc queue length automatically, also it allows you to monitor multiple other metrics depending on your needs.

Options

This sensor requires credentials for Azure subscription (Application (Client) ID, Tenant ID, and Client Secret Value).

Alerts

  • Disk Queue Length > 2000
  • HTTP Queue Length > 200
  • CPU Usage > 90%
  • Memory Usage > 90%

Performance Metrics

  • System\Bytes Received - Total number of bytes received
  • System\Bytes Sent - Total number of bytes sent
  • System\Bytes Received\sec - Bytes received per second
  • System\Bytes Sent\sec - Bytes sent per second
  • System\% CPU Usage - Average processor utilization
  • System\% Memory Usage - Average memory utilization
  • System\Disk Queue Length - Average number of waiting read and write requests
  • System\HTTP Queue Length - Number of waiting pending HTTP requests
  • TCP\Syn Sent Count - The first phase of establishing a connection by the client.
  • TCP\Syn Received Count - SYN packet received, SYN + ACK sent. Waiting for ACK. The connection is half-open
  • TCP\Established Count - The connection has been successfully established. Transmission is probably in progress.
  • TCP\Fin Wait1 Count - FIN packet was sent. Data can still be received, but sending is no longer possible.
  • TCP\Fin Wait2 Count - Own FIN package confirmation was received. It is waiting for a FIN from the server
  • TCP\Closing Count - The connection is being closed
  • TCP\Close Wait Count - FIN packet received, ACK sent. Waiting to submit your own FIN packet
  • TCP\Last Ack Count - TCP Last Ack Server acknowledged the FIN datagram
  • TCP\Time Wait Count - Waiting to make sure the other party has received a disconnect confirmation.
  • Sockets\Inbound All Count - Total inbound socket connections
  • Sockets\Outbound All Count - Total outbound socket connections
  • Sockets\Outbound Established Count - Total outbound socket connections established
  • Sockets\Outbound Time Wait Count - Outbound sockets in Time Wait state
  • Sockets\Loopback Count - Total opened loopbacks

Reports (Data Collectors)

By default, the sensor adds a report containing System\Bytes Received, System\Bytes Sent, System\Bytes Received\sec, System\Bytes Sent\sec, Sockets\Inbound All Count, Sockets\Outbound All Count, Sockets\Outbound Established Count, Sockets\Outbound Time Wait Count and Sockets\Loopback Count charts. These metrics will be collected and available as a report or through Performance Trend Viewer
